Community Voices for Public Accountability of Law Enforcement
July 17, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT
Community has worked hard to expose abuse by police officers and jails, and the federal government agreed reforms are needed. Under the consent decree, policies in the Cleveland Division of Police have been changed, but these policies won’t enforce themselves! Come to this people-power oriented panel discussion to learn how a multi-racial public can press for true accountability for public servants.
Panelists include volunteers, city representatives, activists, activists in other cities with consent decrees, and legal experts, demonstrating a variety of roles and opportunities to work for change. If you are concerned by the pain of structural oppression, and if you have committed to racial justice in Cleveland’s future, your involvement is needed.
Forum hosted by:
Showing Up for Racial Justice Northeast Ohio;
Prism: A Racial Equity Learning Lab;
