Newcomers to the U.S; Challenges & Benefits

Join us for a panel discussion about immigration, refugees, law, and the economy. Panelists include:

Alan Fortnoff – Owner of Motivation Motivates. Founding member of Akron Interfaith Immigration Advocates; member of Akron’s Temple Israel. Alan recently participated in an Interfaith Pilgrimage to the U.S. southern border.
Tania Nemer – Tania served as “Of Counsel” for McGinty, Hilow & Spellacy Co. LPA where she managed a general practice, focused on the areas of criminal law, civil law and immigration. She joined Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland where she served as the Senior Immigration Attorney. She currently serves as a magistrate for Akron Municipal Court.
Lynn Tramonte – Founder and Director of the Ohio Immigrant Alliance, a project that works with immigrants, allies, and pro-immigrant organizations across Ohio. Lynn began her career as a consultant for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in 1998.
