Shredding & Recycling Day 2019

The second of our very popular household hazardous waste drop-off and shredding service of 2019 will take place Saturday, September 21, from 9 AM until noon in the parking lot of City Hall, located at 20777 Lorain Road.
This event is for residents only, please bring identification.
Latex paint is not recyclable and will not be accepted. Drop off your old small household appliances, computers and equipment, unused household cleaners, etc.
The following services will be available:
Paper shredding: A truck will be on-site to ensure your confidential information is completely destroyed in minutes. Residents are asked to limit amount of material to be shredded to two copy paper sized boxes.
The City of Fairview Park has partnered with the Cuyahoga Recycles to provide for the environmentally-safe disposal of hazardous, poisonous or toxic household products that cannot be disposed in the regular trash. More than 10.3 million pounds of hazardous household chemicals have been collected throughout Cuyahoga County since 1996.
Materials ACCEPTED include:
Oil or solvent-based paint, sealers, primers, or coatings (aerosols or liquids)
Varnishes, polyurethanes, shellacs
Paint thinner, mineral spirits, turpentine
Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides
Caustic household cleaners
Automotive fluids, motor oil, car batteries
Adhesives, roof tar, driveway sealer
Kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid
Mercury, fluorescent bulbs (6 ft. length max.)
Tires WITHOUT rims
Materials NOT ACCEPTED include:
Medical waste, pharmaceuticals, medicine, sharps
Explosives, gun powder, ammunition, flares
Radioactive waste (smoke detectors)
Business or commercial waste
